Job summary

The role involves overseeing the preparation of graves and vaults, keeping burial plots ready and maintaining grounds to a high standard. You will work with funeral directors and the public, require good communication and empathy, and be able to operate excavators and dumpers safely.

Qualifications

• Experience in a cemetery environment.
• Practical grounds maintenance skills.
• Experience operating machinery such as excavators and dumpers.
• Physically fit and well organised.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and empathy with bereaved families and the public.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of graves and vaults.
• Ensure burial plots are ready for funerals.
• Maintain cemetery grounds to a high standard.
• Grave aftercare and memorial safety inspections.
• Safe operation of machinery and equipment.
