Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Cemetery Driver Operative to join the Greenspaces Team in Liverpool. The role involves supporting interment processes, operating vehicles and machinery, and performing outdoor, physically demanding duties throughout the year.

Applicants should have a full UK B-category driving licence, be able to work safely and as part of a team, and be prepared for weekend standby duties with a standby payment provided.

Qualifications

• Full UK Category B driving licence required.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Must be physically able to carry out outdoor and manual duties.

Responsibilities

• Support excavation, burial and backfilling of burial plots.
• Follow Grave Digging Instructions (GDIs) to identify plots.
• Drive and operate a range of vehicles.
• Operate small plant, machinery and hand tools.
• Comply with RAMS, toolbox talks and safety procedures.
• Support Greenspaces Team with day-to-day duties.
