Government of The United Kingdom is seeking a Neighbourhood Environmental Worker (Assistant Team Leader) to manage and improve the borough's Cemeteries through coordinated grounds maintenance and interment duties. You will support management with grave spaces, and assist on plant and operational activities across cemeteries within the borough.

The role includes providing dignified burial services, supervising grave spaces, supporting mourners and funeral directors, and undertaking general

Responsibilities

• Carry out burial and interment services with dignity, sensitivity and respect at all times.
• Prepare and excavate grave spaces for interments, including safe use of mechanical plant and equipment.
• Assist with backfilling and making safe grave areas following burials.
• Suport management In the absence of the Bereavement Service Team Leader.
• Support mourners and funeral directors on site, responding professionally and courteously
• Undertake general street cleansing and grounds maintenance across cemeteries, including grass cutting, strimming, litter picking, bin emptying, pruning and weed control.
