Job description

This permanent, full-time Cemeteries Support Officer post with Manpower UK sits in Northampton, paying up to £13.45 hourly, equivalent to £25,877 annually. Working 37 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, the successful candidate agrees start and finish times between 8am and 5pm. Duties centre on administrative assistance for the Cemeteries Team, covering telephone enquiries, burial bookings, paperwork processing and general office tasks. Strong communication and organisational abilities are essential, alongside confidence with record keeping and customer service. The officer helps co-ordinate burial services delivered by operatives, ensuring arrangements run smoothly for bereaved families. Accuracy, empathy and reliability matter greatly in this community-facing position. Cemeteries Support Officer Location: Northampton Salary: £25,877 / Hourly Rate: £13.45 Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Working Hours: 37 hours - Monday to Friday, start and finish times to be agreed between 8am to 5pm.

About the role

Join us as a Cemeteries Support Officer and you will get to play an integral part in the provision of high quality burial services across your community. With strong communication and great organisational qualities, you will provide invaluable administrative support to our Cemeteries Team at Northampton, helping to co-ordinate and organise the services our hard working operatives provide. This role will include tasks such as answering telephone queries, taking burial bookings, processing paperwork and general administrative duties, but it will also offer the opportunity to expand on future cemetery-specific training such as grave marking and memorial testing. Requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across email, telephone and in-person.
  • Prior experience in an administrative / coordination role - funeral industry experience highly advantageous.
  • IT literate with great working knowledge of Microsoft Office and an ability to pick up new systems.
  • An eye for detail and problem solving capabilities.
  • Full UK Driving licence required.
