Job summary

South Thames College is seeking a hard‑working Sessional Lecturer to join the Teacher Education team. You will deliver the Cambridge CELTA programme, helping trainee teachers develop knowledge, skills and confidence to teach English to speakers of other languages.

You will observe teaching practice, assess written work and provide constructive feedback to support learners throughout their learning journey. Applications close 13 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree or relevant professional qualification.
• Cambridge CELTA qualification.
• A recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, Cert Ed, DET or equivalent.
• Substantial experience of teaching ESOL/EFL learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Cambridge CELTA sessions and training to trainees.
• Observe teaching practice and assess written assignments.
• Provide constructive, developmental feedback to support learners.
