Job description

This is an exciting opportunity in the Department of Haemato-Oncology at Royal Marsden Hospital for a Registrar in Cellular Therapies and Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT). This post is suitable for a haematology trainee interested in Cell Therapies and HSCT.

The position is for 12 months, full-time (1.0 WTE), with responsibilities divided equally between Cell Therapy and HSCT. The post involves working at both RMH Sutton and RMH Chelsea, and includes participation in the on-call out of hours service.

Responsibilities include caring for patients undergoing CAR-T Cell therapy for B-NHL, B-ALL, and Myeloma, as well as other cellular therapies within clinical trials. The post holder will gain experience in patient selection, assessment, bridging therapy, lymphodepletion, infusion, and managing complications of CAR-T therapy. Additionally, the role involves caring for patients pre- and post-allogeneic and autologous HSCT, including pre-transplant assessment, conditioning regimens, infection management, Graft versus Host Disease, and late effects of transplant.

The post offers collaboration with a HSCT coordinator, Cell Therapy fellow, nursing coordinators, and a specialist team. The department has a well-established JACIE-accredited programme, with dedicated CNS teams for pre- and post-transplant care, and services for adult and young adult patients (ages 18-25).

There is also an active Palliative Care and Symptom Control Service led by a dedicated consultant, providing 24/7 support and linking with a local hospice.
