A leading NHS Trust in the UK is looking for a Porter to manage the collection and transport of patient specimens for the Cellular Pathology Service. This role includes ensuring timelines are met and urgent requests are prioritized. Full training is provided as you support key laboratory operations. Flexible hours and a range of NHS benefits available.
A post is available in the Cellular Pathology Service, which forms part of the Cellular Pathology directorate. This post presents an opportunity to be part of an excellent team of Porters.
The Porters collect routine and urgent specimens from around the hospital and take them to a collection point for onward transport to the Histology Lab. The post holder may also be expected to drive urgent specimens directly to the Cotman Centre and also provide porter support at the EPA labs or at the Cotman Centre, the post holder may therefore be based at the Cotman Centre as well as the main hospital site.
You will play a key role in ensuring routine and urgent specimens are collected and transferred to Histopathology at the Cotman Centre. You will be responsible for ensuring a collection timetable is adhered to and that urgent specimen requests are prioritised.
