Job summary

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Associate Practitioner for the Cellular Pathology Department in Milton Keynes. The role is full time (37.5 hours per week) with opportunities for flexible working considered for MKUH staff.

The successful candidate will process samples, manage data entry, assist with equipment maintenance, stock control and waste disposal, and support digital scanning and IHC tasks. Training will be provided to achieve competency.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Science, Maths and English are required.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent laboratory qualification or relevant experience.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, basic IT skills, team work.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process patient samples.
• Data entry and equipment operation and maintenance.
• Manage laboratory stock control and waste disposal.
• Digital scanning of slides and referrals to specialist centres.
• Microtomy and embedding; IHC support and related tasks.
• Training will be provided to achieve competency.
