About Longevity Labs
We are a diversified life sciences company with a strong interest in oncology, cell, and gene therapy spaces. One project under consideration is an autologous Dendritic Cell (DC), therapy for solid tumors. While DC therapies are regarded as safe, they have not achieved a high level of clinical benefit in patients. Low cell dose numbers and activation states, suboptimal routes of administration, and limited antigen range are all obstacles that our DC technology has demonstrated its ability to overcome in preclinical testing. The core technology has FDA approval for Phase I trials but needs optimization on the scale manufacturing and antigen production areas.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Cellular Immunologist Consultant to provide expert scientific guidance and hands-on support for our R&D team. As we rapidly advance our novel cell therapy program for oncology, your deep expertise in immunology, T-cell biology, and cancer immunotherapy will be critical in guiding our experimental design, data interpretation, and strategic decision-making. This is a unique opportunity to directly impact the development of groundbreaking cancer therapies in a fast-growing space.
Key Responsibilities
Assay development & optimization: Provide guidance on the development, optimization, and validation of immunology-focused assays relevant to cell therapy, including:
Data analysis & interpretation: Critically analyze and interpret complex immunological data generated from preclinical studies. Provide insightful feedback to the research team, identify key findings, and troubleshoot experimental challenges.
Translational immunology: advise on translational strategies to bridge preclinical findings to clinical development, including biomarker identification and pharmacodynamic assessments.
Troubleshooting & problem solving: Provide expert insights and recommendations to overcome scientific hurdles and optimize our cell therapy constructs and manufacturing processes from an immunological perspective.
Literature & competitive review: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in cellular immunotherapy, cancer immunology, and relevant competitor pipelines. Provide critical reviews of scientific literature and competitive landscapes.
Reporting & presentation: Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, presentations, and grant applications, ensuring scientific rigor and clarity. Present findings and recommendations to the leadership team and scientific advisory board.
Intellectual property input: Provide immunological insights to support the development of our intellectual property strategy.
Qualifications
Proven track record of designing, executing, and interpreting complex immunological experiments, both in vitro and in relevant in vivo models (e.g., syngeneic, xenograft).
Extensive expertise in multi-parameter flow cytometry and analysis using software like FlowJo or FCS Express.
Demonstrated understanding of cell therapy manufacturing principles and their impact on cell product quality and function is highly desirable.
Previous experience as a consultant or in a senior scientific advisory role to a biotech startup is a strong plus.
A strong publication record in top-tier immunology or cancer journals is highly valued.
Skills:
Problem-solving & analytical: exceptional analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate experimental designs, troubleshoot complex scientific issues, and derive meaningful conclusions from data.
Communication: excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts to both scientific and non-scientific audiences.
Strategic thinking: ability to provide high-level strategic guidance and translate scientific insights into actionable development plans.
Independence & flexibility: proven ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to the dynamic needs of a fast-paced startup environment.
