Job summary

The JobsBoard is seeking a Customs Declarations Officer to prepare accurate import/export paperwork and ensure timely, compliant clearance for a diverse range of shipments. You will handle CDS declarations and liaise with customers and partners to meet HMRC requirements.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am–6:00pm. Benefits include 30 days holiday, pension, on-site parking, Perkbox discounts, life insurance on probation, and company uniform.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years proven CDS declaration experience.
• Ability to work as part of a team and also to work independently.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure with tight timelines.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and processing of import/export customs declarations and clearance
• Customs import/export entry checking
• Deal with all enquiries relating to customs procedures, tariff classifications, duty rates and documentation
• Interact with customers face-to-face or by telephone/email in a professional and courteous manner
• Liaise with importers/exporters to obtain information for imports/exports
• Deal with customs related complaints
• Maintain data integrity on all systems
• Liaise with key customs partners
• Support and advise customers ensuring HMRC and other bodies are complied with
