Job summary

ERSG Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Principal Designer to coordinate design activities across multiple work packages, ensuring that health and safety information, interfaces and changes are effectively managed from design through to construction and handover.

• Review and familiarise yourself with CDM procedures, standards and processes for the Principal Designer role.
• Take ownership of Principal Designer procedures across projects and work packages.
• Ensure all designers understand and comply with CDM duties under Regulations.
• Establish regular meetings with Clients, Principal Contractors, Principal Designers, and project stakeholders.
• Chair regular Principal Designer coordination meetings and communicate health and safety information between design teams.

Job description

The role will have responsibility for coordinating Principal Designer activities across multiple work packages and ensuring that design risks, interfaces, changes and health and safety information are effectively managed from design through to construction and handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and familiarise yourself with existing organisational CDM procedures, standards and processes, with particular focus on requirements relating to the Principal Designer role.
• Take ownership of Principal Designer-related procedures, documentation and processes across the assigned projects and work packages.
• Ensure all internal and external designers understand and comply with their duties and responsibilities under CDM Regulations.
• Establish and facilitate regular meetings with Clients, Principal Contractors, Principal Designers, Engineering teams and other relevant project stakeholders.
• Chair regular Principal Designer coordination meetings, ensuring effective communication, collaboration and exchange of health and safety information between design teams.
