Overview

Principal Designer (CDM) – London | Competitive Salary + Benefits | Permanent, Full-Time

A growing consultancy is looking for a skilled Principal Designer to join their team and play a key role in delivering projects across a range of sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on CDM compliance from concept through to completion, working alongside clients and project teams on diverse and challenging schemes.

Responsibilities
  • Act as Principal Designer on multiple projects, ensuring full CDM compliance
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate the pre-construction phase of projects
  • Carry out site visits and inspections, gathering information for compliance monitoring
  • Provide clear CDM advice during project reviews and coordination workshops
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals
  • Keep up to date with industry developments, best practice, and regulatory changes
  • Support the development of technical expertise within the practice
About You
  • Architect, Technologist, or similar background with proven Principal Designer experience
  • APS accreditation desirable
  • Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant software
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations, construction methods, and building systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Health & Safety focused with a proactive approach to project safety
  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy, with a track record of delivering successful projects
  • CSCS card and Principal Designer (Building Regulations) experience desirable
