Job description

A leading specialist Engineering and Construction Contractor are looking for a CDM Health & Safety Manager, working at a project in North Wales.

As specialists with a strong order book, they can certainly provide you with the stability and platform to do so. They have a range of blue-chip clients across the FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Brewing, and Life Sciences sectors nationwide. This particular scheme is a large design and build at a major food manufacturing facility.

You will be responsible for:

1. Managing and maintaining strong relationships with the subcontractor network on site.
2. Effectively motivating, supporting, and managing the site-based team to ensure that the required Health, Safety, and environmental performance standards are achieved.
3. Contributing to the efficient and safe management of the projects and helping maintain all necessary records and documents throughout every stage of the development.
4. Checking the competence of all workers when undertaking work on site and collecting evidence.
5. Ensuring all plant and equipment used on site has been checked according to the particular frequency demanded, and that evidence of the inspection is available upon request.
6. Constructing site induction packs and ensuring all workers have site inductions and any further information and training needed for the work.
7. Conducting site inductions & Toolbox talks.
8. Undertaking regular site safety tours.
9. Performing COSHH Assessments.

Qualifications required:

1. NEBOSH General or Construction certificate.
2. SMSTS (ESSENTIAL).
3. Experienced in CDM certifiable projects across construction schemes.
4. Experience with food hygiene/food safety (preferable).
5. Highly IT literate across Microsoft Office.
6. Able to write reports as required.
7. An excellent communicator and relationship-builder.
8. Willing to travel nationally as required by project needs.
