Job description

Straight-Line Civils are currently hiring a CDM Coordinator/Principal Designer for a company based in Portsmouth, UK.

The company is a global company who have a growing presence in the UK.

You will be involved across all sites the company is currently working on. The client works very closely with the company and will often get involved in the designs. However, it is your responsibility to ensure everything is complaint.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on CDM and Health & Safety matters across all project stages, acting as the primary point of contact for project teams.
  • Prepare key documentation including pre-construction information reports, tender information packs, and Design Risk Registers in collaboration with the design team.
  • Review and assess contractor RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and construction phase plans
  • Attend and contribute to stakeholder meetings, site visits, and audits to advise on design risk management and promote health and safety best practices.
  • Compile Site Inspection Reports and Health & Safety Files while supporting the delivery of Principal Designer and Site Safety Inspector roles.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD software
  • Understand drawings
  • Ensure designers are taking into consideration clients pre-construction info / mitigating risks as practicable as possible
  • Understanding of UK building regulations, CDM, and general health and safety laws
  • Security Clearance

There is potential for this candidate to work in a hybrid structure once initial training has been provided.

Salary - 50,000 to 55,000
