Job description

We're looking for a CDM Compliance Manager to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team based in the East Anglia region on the Anglian Water Alliance. Location: Flexible within Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire or Norfolk (based in any region or in-between).

Hours: 45 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

In this role, you will work as part of the Integrated Maintenance Repair & Developer Services (IMRDS) for Capital Delivery and reactive works. The work types include main laying schemes, district meter bypass installations, various size meter replacements, confined space work, planned reactive large diameter and complex burst mains across the Anglian Water operational areas.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Compliance Manager, you'll work within the compliance team, collaborating with designers, engineers, managers, operatives, sub-contractors, and Principal Designers to ensure compliance with Health & Safety under 2015 CDM regulations.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Review design submissions by engineers and associated documentation (Environmental, Arborist reports, land entries, Design Risks, etc.) to ensure sufficient information for CPPs or for sub-contractors to produce their documentation.
  • Provide feedback to engineers and discuss any shortfalls in information to gather additional details needed for accurate pre-construction information submissions.
  • Attend Principal Designers meetings and actively contribute to improving the design and construction process.
  • Review projects through start-to-end audits, complete reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary changes.
  • Develop documentation for schemes as required.

What are we looking for?

This role is ideal if you hold:

  • Experience in the construction/utility sector at a managerial level.
  • Demonstrable understanding of design and construction management (CDM 2015 regulations).
  • First Aid at Work and SMSTS certifications.
  • EUSR install, inspect, and remove timber, steel, and proprietary support systems.
  • NPORS Crane/Lift Supervisor, deep excavation/shuttering experience.
  • Temporary works coordinator, formal CDM training, and IOSH certification.
  • Full driving license.
