Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an experienced CDM Advisor to join our Energy team in Glasgow. You will help meet duties under CDM 2015 across the full project lifecycle – from early design through construction, commissioning and handover – on projects including substations, grid connections, battery storage, solar and wind.

Qualifications

• Significant CDM, construction health and safety and design risk management experience.
• Thorough knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK health and safety legislation.
• NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Advise project teams, clients and designers on CDM 2015 duties.
• Support or carry out Principal Designer role during pre-construction.
• Lead design risk management including HAZID and risk assessments.
• Ensure designers manage foreseeable construction risks.
• Prepare and manage PCI packs.
• Review Construction Phase Plans before work starts.
• Develop and hand over Health and Safety File.
• Assess duty holder competence and resourcing.
• Carry out site visits, inspections and audits.
• Prepare F10 notifications for HSE submission.
• Deliver CDM briefings and training to staff.
• Support incident investigations and share lessons learned.
