Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a CCTV Drainage Support Operative to assist with inspecting and surveying drainage systems using specialist CCTV equipment. The role involves identifying blockages, defects, cracks, collapses, and other drainage issues so that repairs can be planned and carried out.

Based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, you will support engineers and ensure high standards of service. Working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, you will maintain excellent customer service, complete site

Qualifications

  • Full UK driving license is required.
  • Banksman experience is desirable.
  • Manual Handling training is desirable.
  • Emergency First Aid qualification is desirable.
  • NRSWA accreditation is desirable.
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene is desirable.
  • Medium risk confined space training is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain great customer service and communication.
  • Adhere to company absence reporting procedure.
  • Update and complete site documentation using an electronic tablet.
  • Ensure all works follow approved method statements and Safe System of Work.
  • Report issues or hazards per company procedures.
  • Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Operate machinery and tools safely to assist with tasks.
  • Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
  • Wear and maintain PPE in good condition.

Department

Drainage/Depot Network consists of a strategically located depot network across the UK, spanning from Aberdeen to Plymouth. Enabling rapid response to customer requirements and providing round-the-clock coverage, 365 days a year.

This extensive footprint allows Lanes to combine local responsiveness with national capability, ensuring consistent service standards while maintaining close relationships with regional customers and infrastructure partners.

Purpose of the role

To support CCTV Drainage Engineers in inspecting, surveying, and assessing drainage and sewer systems using specialist CCTV camera equipment. The role helps identify blockages, defects, cracks, collapses, and other drainage issues so that appropriate repairs can be planned and carried out.

  • Maintain equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Wearing and maintaining in good condition any Personal Protective Equipment.

About the Role
  • Location: Washington, Tyne and Wear

  • Salary: £14 - £15 per hour dependant on experience
  • 21 days holiday + bank holidays
