Job description

Our client is a respected and friendly, forward thinking CCTV company that makes your security decisions easy. They are seeking an experienced CCTV Engineer to work in the South of the UK. The main day to day responsibilities will be to install, maintain and upgrade CCTV and other security systems, performing tasks like site surveys, fault finding, repairs, system configuration and client training to ensure optimal security and functionality. Key responsibilities include following technical drawings, working with IP networking and structured cabling, documenting systems and maintaining compliance with security standards and regulations. A strong understanding of electrical principles, IT and excellent communication and customer service skills are essential for success in this role.

  • Conduct site surveys to assess security needs, choose appropriate equipment, and configure CCTV layouts.
  • Install cameras. monitors, wiring, and associated equipment, ensuring proper placement and connectivity.
  • Perform regular inspections, cleaning, and testing to keep CCTV systems in optimal working order.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with CCTV and other electronic systems, replacing faulty components as needed.
  • Install new equipment and upgrade outdated cameras and systems with advanced technologies.
  • Read schematics, produce reports, and create as-built drawings to document installations and system configurations.
  • Provide training to clients on how to effectively use and monitor their new CCTV systems.
  • Knowledge of CCTV hardware, structured cabling, IP networking, basic electrical principles, and security standards.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and provide effective technical solutions.
  • Understanding of H&S procedures, including method statements and risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with relevant security industry codes of practice, such as NSI and other relevant policies.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CCTV Engineer who enjoys travelling to different sites around the South of England with no two days being the same. Must have a clean driving licence as a company van will be given.
