ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

The Dual Role Security Officer/CCTV Controller plays a critical part in ensuring the safety and security of The Shopping Center. This position combines the responsibilities of monitoring CCTV operations and providing on-site security presence, ensuring exemplary standards of safety, security, and customer service for all visitors and staff.

1. Manage and monitor CCTV systems in compliance with established codes of practice.
2. Conduct regular patrols throughout the shopping center to deter and detect criminal activity.
3. Respond to incidents and emergencies effectively, ensuring the safety of all patrons and staff.
4. Provide guidance and support to other security personnel in maintaining site security protocols.
5. Assess and prioritize incidents while communicating effectively with management and relevant authorities.
6. Log and report incidents following company procedures, ensuring accurate documentation.
7. Ensure compliance with GDPR and all relevant regulations regarding surveillance data.
8. Support the delivery of first-rate customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.
9. Assist in managing access and egress to management areas and service yards.
10. Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
11. Build strong relationships with clients, tenants, and staff to create a secure environment.
12. Wear the designated uniform and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
13. Be available to handle additional shifts as needed to cover staff absences.
14. Engage positively with customers, answering queries and providing directions when needed.
15. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures and work diligently during crises.
16. Complete other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Security Manager.
17. Work independently as well as part of a team.
18. Demonstrate strong observational skills and attention to detail.
19. Possess a valid SIA CCTV License and Security License.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

1. Significant experience in security roles, preferably in retail or shopping center environments.
2. Proficient in operating CCTV systems and security technologies.
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Proficient in report writing to document incidents comprehensively.
5. Ability to remain calm and make rational decisions under pressure.
6. Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn new skills as needed.
7. Hold a current SIA Security License and SIA CCTV License.
