LOCATION: Eastgate Shopping Centre

PAY RATE: £30,081 per annum

SHIFT PATTERN: 3 on 3 off, 42 hours per week

ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

The Dual Role Security Officer/CCTV Controller plays a critical part in ensuring the safety and security of The Shopping Center. This position combines the responsibilities of monitoring CCTV operations and providing on-site security presence, ensuring exemplary standards of safety, security, and customer service for all visitors and staff.

• Manage and monitor CCTV systems in compliance with established codes of practice.

• Conduct regular patrols throughout the shopping center to deter and detect criminal activity.

• Respond to incidents and emergencies effectively, ensuring the safety of all patrons and staff.

• Provide guidance and support to other security personnel in maintaining site security protocols.

• Assess and prioritize incidents while communicating effectively with management and relevant authorities.

• Log and report incidents following company procedures, ensuring accurate documentation.

• Ensure compliance with GDPR and all relevant regulations regarding surveillance data.

• Support the delivery of first-rate customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.

• Assist in managing access and egress to management areas and service yards.

• Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.

• Build strong relationships with clients, tenants, and staff to create a secure environment.

• Wear the designated uniform and maintain a professional appearance at all times.

• Available to handle additional shifts as needed to cover staff absences.

• Engage positively with customers, answering queries and providing directions when needed.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures and work diligently during crises.

• Complete other reasonable tasks as assigned by the Security Manager.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Strong observational skills and attention to detail.

• Possession of a valid SIA CCTV License and Security License is mandatory.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Significant experience in security roles, preferably in retail or shopping center environments.

• Proficient in the operation of CCTV systems and security technologies.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient report writing ability to document incidents comprehensively.

• Ability to remain calm and make rational decisions under pressure.

• Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn new skills as needed.

• Current SIA Security License and SIA CCTV License.
