This is an exciting development opportunity for a Registered Nurse with experience in clinical and classroom based teaching to work in Haematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) services and the Faculty of Children’s Nurse Education. The post is a fixed term role for 6 months. The purpose of the role is to implement the Framework by embedding it into existing education processes and annual staff performance reviews.
As the practice educator you will work autonomously but closely with the teams in Haematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow transplantation services across all patient ages, including adolescent care. In particular you will work closely with the Ward managers, Line Managers and the Clinical Support Facilitators within Paediatric Cancer care.
You will be responsible for ensuring the CCLG Career and Education Framework is embedded into nurse education processes for all levels of existing and new nursing staff working within paediatric cancer care. The role will involve some education in collaboration with existing CSF’s and the Lecturer Practitioners.
The role will be supported by the Lecturer Practitioners for Paediatric Haematology, Oncology and BMT Services and the Lead Nurse for the Faculty of Children's Nurse Education, within friendly, supportive teams who are committed to high-calibre education and safe and effective clinical care.
The role has a degree of flexibility in day to day working pattern and working from home is supported when appropriate.
Applicants are expected to have clinical experience in this speciality area and familiarity with practice assessment. An aptitude for bedside teaching, as well as some experience in classroom based teaching would be beneficial to the role.
