Job summary

NHFT is offering a fixed-term 0.5 WTE Band 7/8a psychological therapist role covering maternity leave across the West Northamptonshire Community Mental Health Teams. You will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy to adults in CMHT bases and in community settings, using interpreters where required.

The post emphasises autonomous practice within guidelines, multidisciplinary collaboration, and involvement in service development and supervision.

Qualifications

• Doctoral qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or equivalent therapy training.
• Significant experience as a Psychological Therapy Practitioner.
• Interest/experience in trauma and unusual experiences (e.g. hearing voices).
• Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development effectively.
• Skills in developing risk management plans.
• Ability to meet service targets and manage caseload under pressure.

We have an exciting opportunity to offer a fixed-term 0.5 WTE B7/8a for up to 12 months maternity cover post across the Community Mental Health Teams in West Northamptonshire., Provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy to clients in CMHT bases and a variety of community settings including service user homes. Work with individuals from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when required. Regularly attend weekly MDT clinical and business meetings.Offer consultation, advice, and training to non-psychologist colleagues and carers, supporting psychologically informed care across the service. Work autonomously within professional guidelines and team policies.Use your research and audit skills to contribute to service development.Receive regular supervision from an appropriately qualified practitioner., This role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about delivering high quality psychological therapy, enjoys multidisciplinary teamwork, and is eager to contribute to ongoing service improvement. Prior experience working with individuals who have severe and enduring mental health difficulties will be an advantage.

  We are seeking a skilled and motivated CBT Therapist to join our West CMHT Psychological Therapies team.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high quality, evidence based psychological care to a diverse client group. This is a varied role for a clinician who thrives on autonomy, collaboration, and service development. This post would suit an individual early on in their career who is looking to gain experience across different services as well as an experienced practitioner who enjoys working with our client population.

• Doctoral Qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology OR a qualification in an accredited psychological therapy (e.g. Post Graduate Diploma or Master's degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) or Equivalent Psychological therapy training and a recorded registered qualification in one of the following core professions - nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy, psychological therapy.
• Significant experience working as a Psychological Therapy Practitioner.
• Interest/experience in working with trauma and unusual experiences and beliefs e.g. hearing voices., Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with service users, carers and professional staff.
• Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively.
• Skills in developing risk management plans.
• Ability to meet agreed/specified service targets, to manage own caseload/time and to work under pressure., To contribute to a psychologically based framework of understanding and care to the benefit of all clients of the service, across all settings and agencies serving the client group.
