CBRN Business Services Manager – Police Staff – Counter Terrorism Policing WM

Salary range: £50,088 - £54,879 per annum

Contract Type: Full Time

Band/Rank: Grade 8

Information about the role

At the National CBRN Centre, we bring together the emergency services to protect and prepare the UK against the chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) threat. We are seeking an experienced individual to be our new Business Service Manager, overseeing the day-to-day management of the Centre’s Business Support Team. The role involves ensuring high-quality business resourcing and administrative support, often within specified cost and time constraints, including implementing change programmes and achieving desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Accountability for the CBRN Business Support function, providing effective, efficient, and forward-thinking resourcing, financial, facilities, fleet, H&S, and IT services.
  • Oversee financial control, procurement, income generation, and budgets; develop and implement Value for Money principles, practices, and reviews. Monitor costs and resources, taking appropriate actions as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement and financial regulations from WMP policies.
  • Facilitate the delivery of complex change programmes by establishing effective systems and processes.
  • Implement and ensure adherence to WMP Corporate HR policies and People Services processes, maintaining accurate records of establishments and headcount.
  • Provide HR management and guidance to staff, including recruitment, attendance, staff development, and performance management, working with CTPWM and WMP People Services.
  • Manage the utilisation of premises and IT services through active engagement and performance monitoring.
  • Deploy business resources effectively for day-to-day operations.
  • Coordinate responses to Internal Audit recommendations and other audits as required by legislation.
  • Review and update the Centre’s Business Continuity plans and Health & Safety records.
  • Perform any other duties commensurate with the role grade.
