Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a compassionate Roman Catholic Chaplain for HMP Northumberland, NE65 9XG. The role provides pastoral care and spiritual support within a custodial setting, serving prisoners and staff from diverse backgrounds.

The position involves facilitating religious activities, counselling, and coordinating with other faith groups to promote inclusion. The chaplain will engage with visiting ministers, support prisoner rehabilitation and reintegration, and participate in Equality and

Qualifications

• Recognised Roman Catholic Chaplain with authorisation from faith authorities.
• Experience in a chaplaincy or pastoral care role preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care and support to prisoners and staff of all faiths.
• Maintain links with visiting Ministers and faith communities to support reintegration.
• Offer counselling and spiritual guidance as appropriate.
• Coordinate and participate in religious activities and faith-based services.
• Represent Sodexo and collaborate with chaplains of other faiths to promote peace and inclusion.
• Support staff with Post Incident Care and relevant training.
