Vincere is seeking a Catastrophic Injury Solicitor in Manchester to join a national Large Loss team. NQ to 3 years’ PQE welcome; you’ll manage a defendant PI caseload and support senior colleagues on high‑value claims, including brain, spinal and amputation injuries.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor (NQ to 3 years’ PQE).
• Experience running a defendant PI litigation caseload (motor or EL/PL preferred).
• Large loss experience is helpful but not essential.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
• Confident time management and the ability to prioritise deadlines.
• Comfortable working as part of a team and on your own initiative.
• Good working knowledge of the CPR and litigation processes.

Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of catastrophic and high-value defendant PI claims.
• Supporting senior lawyers on complex large loss matters.
• Assisting with initial investigations and preparing reports and strategy updates.
• Reviewing and analysing case information and identifying further investigations required.
• Liaising with insurers, other solicitors, police, the HSE and witnesses to gather evidence.
• Instructing experts and managing evidence as appropriate.
• Managing diaries and action lists to keep matters moving.
• Attending court hearings, conferences and joint settlement meetings where required.
• Drafting letters, reports, reserve sheets and action plans.
• Supporting the supervision and development of more junior colleagues where appropriate.
• Completing client and internal MI procedures.
• Working in line with data protection requirements, the CPR and the rehabilitation protocol.
• Keeping up to date with legal developments in high-value personal injury.
• Working to deadlines, quality measures and agreed chargeable targets.

Catastrophic Injury Solicitor

Location: Manchester

Salary: £40,000 to £60,000 (depending on experience)

Our client is looking to hire a Catastrophic Injury Solicitor into a national Large Loss team based in Manchester. This is a strong opportunity for a junior lawyer who wants early exposure to high-value, complex defendant personal injury claims, with the support of an experienced team and the chance to build a long-term career in large loss work.

The caseload includes severe injury claims across motor, employers’ liability, public liability and product liability, including brain, spinal and amputation injuries, as well as fatal dependency claims.

You will manage your own workload while supporting senior colleagues on complex matters. The role offers a broad mix of technical litigation work, client reporting, evidence gathering and case strategy, with regular collaboration across the wider team.

What You’ll Be Doing
