Job description

We are hiring a Chef Manager at an East London Primary School who is passionate about providing nutritionally balanced and tasty food for future generations. This role is term-time only, with no weekends, offering great flexibility.

The role includes:

  • £16.00 per hour
  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (between 7:30 am and 2:30 pm)
  • Term time only, 192 days

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting approximately 390 meals per day to standards required by Caterlink and the client
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements regarding Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislation
  • Enhancing the company's reputation for excellent food and service, exceeding client and customer expectations
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the location, supervising teams, managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
  • Acting as the main point of contact for the client in your school, recommending and implementing improvements
  • Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets
  • Supporting and training team members, ensuring all training is completed, and managing performance
