Job Description

We are hiring a Chef Manager at Derby Cathedral School, Derby who is passionate about providing nutritionally balanced and tasty food for future generations. This role is term-time only with no weekend work, offering great flexibility.

The role includes:

1. £15.30 per hour or up to £25,500 per annum
2. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
3. Term-time only – working 39 weeks per year

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Preparing, cooking, and presenting food to Caterlink and client standards
2. Ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements for Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislation
3. Enhancing the company's reputation for excellent food and service, consistently exceeding client and customer expectations
4. Managing the day-to-day operations of the location, supervising teams, managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
5. Acting as the main point of contact for the client at your school, recommending and implementing improvements
6. Regular communication with your line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets
7. Supporting and training team members, leading by example, ensuring all training is completed, and managing performance
