Job description

We are hiring for a Chef Manager at Yarnfield Primary School who wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food. This role is working term-time only and no weekends, making it ideal for those seeking flexibility.

The role:

  • Up to £22,000 per annum
  • 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday
  • Term-time only – working 38 weeks per year

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client
  • Ensuring the location meets statutory and company requirements for Health and Safety, Food Safety, and environmental legislation and procedures
  • Enhancing the company’s reputation for excellent food and service with the client and customers, consistently exceeding expectations
  • Managing the day-to-day running of the location, supervising teams, managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
  • Serving as the main point of contact for the client in your school, recommending and implementing regular adjustments and improvements
  • Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets to ensure achievement
  • Supporting and training teams, leading from the front to ensure everyone can excel, completing all training, and managing performance
