Job summary

Caterlink, the education sector catering specialist, is hiring a Catering Manager for Buckton Fields Primary School in Northampton. The role is term-time only with no weekends, offering 35 hours per week and a pay rate of £15.00 per hour.

You will lead day-to-day operations, supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets, drive KPIs and ensure health, safety and quality standards for the client and pupils.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering management within education settings is preferred.
• Ability to maintain Health & Safety compliance and Food Safety standards.
• Strong budgeting, inventory control and cost management skills.
• Proven leadership and training abilities to develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure location meets Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental laws and procedures.
• Uphold Caterlink’s reputation for high-quality food and service with client and customers.
• Oversee day-to-day location operations, supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets.
• Act as main client contact in school, implement improvements and adjustments.
• Regularly monitor KPIs and financial targets with line manager.
• Lead training and development to ensure team performance.

Job Description

We are hiring for a Catering Manager at Buckton Fields Primary School, Northamptonwho wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food. This role is working term-time only and no weekends so is great for those looking for flexibility.

The role:

• £15.00per hour
• 35hours per week working Monday – Friday
• Term-time only – working 38weeks per year

Your key responsibilities will include:

• To prepare, cook and present food to the standards required by Caterlink and the client
• To ensure that the location meets statutory and company requirements of Health and Safety, Food Safety and environmental legislations and procedures
• To ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers and expectations are consistently exceeded
• To be responsible for the day-to-day running of the location and supervising teams including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
• To be the main point of contact for our client in your school ensuring that regular adjustments and improvements are both recommended and implemented
• Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets to ensure these are achieved
• Supporting and training our teams, leading from the front to make sure everyone can excel in their role by ensuring all training is completed and performance is managed
