Job summary

Caterlink is recruiting an Assistant Chef for Heybridge Primary School in Maldon. The role focuses on delivering nutritionally balanced and tasty meals, with an emphasis on quality, service and customer care.

You will support planning, preparation and cooking while upholding high food safety standards and company policy. The position offers 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am–2pm, term-time only, with DBS disclosure and safeguarding commitments.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, preparing and cooking of meals to required standard and maintain high food safety standards.
• Brief kitchen teams on menus and service; ensure health and safety procedures are applied continuously.
• Carry out company bookwork as required.

Job Description

We are looking for an Assistant Chef at Heybridge Primary school in Maldon who wants to ensure our future generations are provided with nutritionally balanced and tasty food. We are looking for an organised, hard-working and passionate individual to ensure that the food quality, presentation and service are provided to the required standard. You should be passionate about delivering an efficient service to our students whilst ensuring we maintain great customer service and high food safety standards.

The role:

• £12.95per hour
• 30 hours per week working Monday – Friday 8am - 2pm
• Term-time only

You will assist with all planning, preparing and cooking of meals to the required standard and you will ensure that the company’s reputation for excellent food and service is enhanced with the client and customers. Other tasks will include briefing kitchen teams on menus and service, ensuring all food safety and health and safety procedures are applied continuously and carry out company bookwork.
