Pay: Annual salary £38,778
Hours: 40 hours/week. Rota: 5 days from 7, Mon - Fri (with some weekend work)
Shifts: Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (may involve working alongside detainee labour in the kitchen)

We’re hiring a Catering Training Manager to join our committed team at HMP Millsike.

You’ll be responsible for all training, and record keeping, for both Aramark staff and enhanced prisoners, ensuring that the NVQ programme is upheld and identifying potential candidates for the NVQ programme.

What You'll Do:
  • Plan NVQ training and induct new candidates onto the NVQ programme.
  • Complete practical demonstrations for NVQ candidates and coach and mentor them through theory questions for NVQ.
  • Interview new kitchen workers (prisoners) as required.
  • Train prisoners and staff in the use of all kitchen equipment and Health and Hygiene practices, keeping up to date training records for prisoners and staff.
  • Assist where necessary in food preparation.
  • Ensure all food storage areas, utensils and equipment are regularly cleaned in accordance with the cleaning schedule.
  • Identify any further training needs for all staff and action as appropriate.
  • Maintain component hygiene standards, within the main catering areas and monitor client’s servery areas by completing servery check lists.
What We're Looking For:
  • NVQ Level 2 Culinary or equivalent
  • Food hygiene certificate – Level 3
  • Health & Safety Level 2
  • Previous experience in a Food Production role within catering or retail
  • TAQA or A1 Equivalent Assessing qualification (desirable).
  • PTTLS or Equivalent Teaching Qualification (desirable).
  • Level 2 Barista Skills or above (desirable).
  • IOSH – Managing Safely (desirable).
  • Previous experience in training large groups and managing a curriculum (desirable).
