Job summary

Holroyd Howe, a leading school catering provider in the UK, is seeking a Food Service Assistant to support daily meal service across a school site. You will help with food preparation, service, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer care for pupils, staff and visitors.

Ideal candidates will have a passion for healthy, nutritious meals, strong attention to detail, and a flexible, team-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract or high-volume catering.

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Food Service Assistant to support the day-to-day food and service delivery across the school. This role is essential in ensuring pupils, staff, and visitors receive high-quality, nutritious meals served with care, efficiency, and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas
• Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls
• Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors
• Set up and clear service areas, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
• Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
• Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions
