Job summary

DN Colleges Group is seeking a Catering Supervisor to deliver a professional, customer-focused service across its catering outlets in Doncaster. The role is hands-on, supporting food preparation, cooking, baking and service while upholding high food hygiene and service standards.

You will help organise staffing, support hospitality services and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment. The position offers a permanent contract, 35.5 hours per week, and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 in Catering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in food preparation, cooking and service.
• Experience in customer service and cash handling.
• Ability to organise staff and work under pressure.
• Strong communication and teamwork across teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and baking activities across catering outlets.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and kitchen safety at all times.
• Organise staffing to ensure catering facilities operate efficiently and effectively.
• Provide visible, approachable support during service periods and maintain knowledge of menu items and products.
• Support the delivery of in‑house hospitality services.
• Complete daily and weekly administrative records in line with relevant legislation.
• Respond appropriately to customer feedback and elevate requests or complaints to the Catering Manager.
• Maintain awareness of allergen information and products used within the catering operation.
• Support training and development activities within the catering team.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, students on placement and the wider Estates and Facilities team.
• Provide support across different DN Colleges sites when required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, departmental objectives and service standards.
