Job summary

Ministry of Justice in Woking is seeking a catering professional to lead in an industrial kitchen within a prison environment. You’ll oversee offenders in preparing nutritious meals, helping them gain skills and qualifications to improve employment prospects after release.

You will work 37 hours per week with shifts outside 7am–7pm and benefit from a 20% unsocial hours allowance, hybrid working where available, and a competitive Band 3 package including pension and civil service benefits.

Qualifications

• Level 2 certificate in food production or equivalent.
• Food hygiene certificate at Level 2.
• Familiar with current health, safety and hygiene regulations for working in a kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of offenders to prepare and cook quality, nutritional meals for the entire prison.
• Help offenders learn new skills and gain qualifications to improve employment prospects after release.
