Overview

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Catering Development Chef/Catering Supervisor to join a school catering service as part of Nottinghamshire Council. This is a temporary contract for 3 months with a view to extend.

Responsibilities
  • Inspire and support catering teams to deliver high-quality food and service.
  • Audit school kitchens, providing guidance and recommendations for improvement.
  • Design and implement fresh, seasonal menus that meet School Food Standards and Food for Life criteria.
  • Collaborate with schools, pupils, and staff to create bespoke menus reflecting local tastes.
  • Promote school meal offers at events, including food demonstrations and taster sessions.
  • Support, mentor, and upskill school cooks, boosting confidence and creativity.
  • Drive continuous improvement across school and commercial catering operations.
About You
  • Background in high-standard catering with a passion for fresh, wholesome food.
  • Strong culinary skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of school catering and government food standards.
  • Experience with allergen compliance and management in a school setting.
  • Previous experience within a primary school catering environment (or ability to adapt skills).
  • Full driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
