Mount Charles are currently recruiting for a Catering Manager to join our team based at Riverhouse Private Care Home, Newcastle County Down.

Location: Newcastle Co Down – Riverhouse Care Home | Salary: £15.25 per hour

Catering Manager Working Pattern:

  • 36 Hours per Week
  • 4 days out of 7 days (as and when needed)
  • Various Shift Patterns

The Catering Manager Role:

  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • Planning, preparation, and presentation of all meals served at the required time, adhering to the service level agreement and to the client, customer, and company satisfaction
  • Adhering to special dietary requirements, paying particular attention to allergens
  • Assisting to control and monitor financial performance of the unit to pre-budgeted targets
  • Purchasing and stock control in accordance with company suppliers
  • Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the unit to required standards
  • Ensuring completion of due diligence records in line with food safety policies
  • Preparation of any hospitality catering as required, some of which may occur outside of normal working hours
  • Taking all necessary steps to ensure maximum security of the kitchen and any other areas under Mount Charles control
  • Working as part of the team to maintain and deliver excellent service

The Person:

  • Minimum Level 3 award in Food Safety and Catering or equivalent
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adhere to all health & safety practices
  • Strong team management skills
  • High levels of personal hygiene and appearance
  • The ability to prioritize and have an eye for detail
  • The ability to delegate effectively to the team

Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis. The role also requires proficient skills in computer literacy.
