Opportunity: Catering Manager

TLC Care offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Catering Manager to support the first-class food service at our care home. We seek a passionate individual who loves cooking to join our award-winning team and expand their culinary skills.

The main purpose of the Catering Manager role is to organize and control the efficient and economical production of quality food within budget, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with EHO regulations. Food preparation will be of a very high standard, including:

  • Preparing, cooking, and serving hot and cold meals as required
  • Providing for special dietary requirements, including Kosher, Halal, vegan, and vegetarian cuisine
  • Having high-level experience in preparing pure vegetarian Indian cuisine
Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment of kitchen team members
  • Auditing and ensuring adherence to EHO regulations
  • Following the IDDSI framework and ensuring all dietary requirements are met
  • Demonstrating good leadership skills
  • Producing a timely 4-week kitchen rota
  • Training the kitchen team
  • Developing menus using sustainable produce
  • Placing orders and conducting monthly stock takes
  • Monitoring and controlling food costs within budget
  • Overseeing the food safety management system
Qualifications and Skills
  • City & Guilds Level 1 & 2, or equivalent (achieved or working towards)
  • Basic Food / Hygiene Certificate
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Team player
