Job description

ESS is seeking an experienced and dynamic Catering Manager to lead our catering team. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient and effective operation of one of our Government service sites. As the Catering Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage services, managing a diverse team, and maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction and hygiene.

Our ideal Catering Manager will:

1. Oversee the daily operations of the catering department, ensuring seamless service delivery.
2. Manage a team of chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house personnel, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
3. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and food safety standards.
4. Monitor and manage budgets, controlling costs and maximising profitability.
5. Coordinate catering for special events, meetings, and functions, ensuring exceptional service and attention to detail.
6. Implement and oversee customer feedback mechanisms to continuously improve service delivery.
7. Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.

Ideal Experience:

1. Proven experience as a Catering Manager or in a similar role within a high-volume, high-quality catering environment.
2. Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations.
3. Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities, with experience in training and developing staff.
4. Financial acumen with some experience in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
5. Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, staff, and stakeholders.
