Aramark UK are currently recruiting an experienced Catering Manager to join our team working at Highbury Hospital, PFI NHS Hospital located in Bulwell, Nottingham.

You will be responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the Kitchen, Staff Restaurant, Vending and Hospitality. As part of this hands on role you will be delegating tasks to your team and leading your team to success.

  • This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, 5 over 7, predominately Monday to Friday. Shifts range between 6.30am-6.00pm, leaving your evenings free - a rarity when you work within culinary.

A day in the life of a Catering Manager at Highbury:

  • Ensure the catering operations meet the agreed contract conditions.
  • Ensure the patient feeding meets the full criteria of NHS Food Standards.
  • Demonstrate established company solutions to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency within consumer driven offerings.
  • A willingness to ‘put on your whites’ and lead from the front.
  • Lead catering team to ensure quality in final presentation of food.
  • Train and lead employees to ensure knowledge of food menus and promotional calendars.
  • Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback using the NHS supervision and PAD processes. Plan and execute team meetings and daily huddles.
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service using Aramark's standard model.
  • Responsible for delivering food and labour targets. Develop and execute strategies to achieve catering revenue forecasts.
  • Responsible for executing catering events of wide-ranging size and scope, including staffing and management.
  • Ensure compliance with Aramark food, occupational and environmental safety policies in all culinary and kitchen operations.
  • You will be attending meetings on behalf of Aramark with Client company and Senior members of NHS.
  • Accountable for stock flow and rotation of products
  • Placing orders and stock rotation, carrying out regular stock takes and completing the relevant back office paperwork.
  • Handle customer/patient complaints as required
  • Direct and coach team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks, ensuring all training and development needs are met
You'll be set up for success if:
  • An approved catering qualification at diploma/degree level, minimum level NVQ Level 3 and 5 years industry experience, 2 of which were at management or department head level with ideally experience within the Healthcare sector.
  • Demonstrates excellent people management skills with experience of managing large teams of staff.
  • A high degree of knowledge of Food Hygiene including HACCP.
  • The ability to manage in a diverse and pressurised environment with a focus on client and customer services.
  • Commercially focused, experience with budgets and a proven ability to achieve stretching commercial targets.
