Job Title: Catering Manager

Hourly Rate: £16 per hour

Location: Birmingham B7

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only

Weekly Hours: 40 hours per week

Start Date: 1 September 2025

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Catering Manager. In this vital role, you will oversee the daily running of the school kitchen, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals that support the health and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the school kitchen, ensuring smooth service and high standards.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of catering staff to deliver exceptional service.
  • Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals that meet dietary and allergen requirements.
  • Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in line with current regulations.
  • Conduct regular stock takes and manage orders through the online portal.
  • Liaise with school staff and students to ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Report to and collaborate with the Area Manager to meet performance targets and service expectations.
Key Requirements
  • This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check
  • Proven experience in a similar catering management role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a busy kitchen environment.
  • Passion for food and service.
