Job summary

Ministry of Justice is recruiting for a prison catering role within an industrial kitchen environment. You will oversee offenders to prepare nutritious, quality meals for the establishment and support their skills development, while adhering to health and safety standards.

The role offers a 37-hour week with a 20% unsocial hours allowance and flexible options including hybrid working where possible. Full-time roles may include part-time arrangements depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Level 2 certificate in Food Production within Hospitality and Catering or equivalent.
• Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2.
• Familiar with current health, safety and hygiene regulations for kitchen work.
• Able to demonstrate competency in an industrial kitchen environment.
• Able to speak with confidence in English.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of offenders in the kitchen to prepare nutritious meals for the establishment.
• Ensure food is prepared to quality and nutritional standards.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Support learning and apprenticeship opportunities for staff and offenders.
• Collaborate with the catering team to deliver reliable catering services.
