Overview

Catering Consultant / Account Manager for the South West

apetito is the UK’s leading food supplier to the health and social care sectors, serving more than 600 care homes, 500 hospitals, and 200 education settings.

Our meals are expertly crafted by dietitians and chefs, then frozen to lock in freshness. For over 25 years, our sister company Wiltshire Farm Foods has been delivering over 300 delicious frozen meals to customers' homes.

The healthcare team, established in 2000, comprises experts with operational, managerial, and training experience within apetito and the healthcare industry, enabling us to support our customers' strategies effectively. We supply catering products, systems, and services to healthcare organizations directly and through contract caterers.

Our team focuses on building long-term partnerships and has grown significantly, including training and operations, catering consultants, marketing, and national account managers.

The Healthcare team is led by the General Manager of Healthcare. There are 6 Catering Consultants, each covering a specific UK region.

Our goal is to grow the Healthcare business annually and maintain our market leadership in the sector, which we are proud of.

The team operates with a high degree of autonomy, working independently in their territories and collaborating during mobilizations.

This role suits someone with account management experience and a proven sales record in catering. You should be passionate about expanding the healthcare business, offering our products and services through consultative selling, and building strong relationships. Responsibilities include managing existing accounts and developing new business. Patience, understanding, and proactivity are essential, as exceeding customer expectations is our aim.

This home-based role covers hospitals in the South West, involving early starts, late finishes, and overnight stays.

The geographical area includes: Wales, Gloucester, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Devon. Further details to be discussed at interview.

Responsibilities

The Healthcare Team aims for growth through:

  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities within the territory that align with healthcare strategies.
  • Growing existing accounts while retaining current business.
  • Providing excellent ongoing service, handling feedback and complaints effectively to retain clients.
  • Supporting the National Account Team with NHS contract caterers, including site visits.

Additional activities include:

  • Monitoring sales and service reports.
  • Networking within the industry for prospects and industry developments.
  • Attending team meetings, sharing ideas, and utilizing market intelligence.
  • Assisting with new business implementations and mobilizations.
  • Promoting the brand at trade events.

Qualifications/Personal Qualities

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of NHS nutrition and catering systems.
