Job Title: Band 2 Catering Assistant - Workington Coffee Bean Café

Part-time position: 25 hours/week

Location: Workington Hospital, North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

Salary: £23,615 per annum pro-rata

Working Hours: Monday 11am-4pm; Tuesday to Friday 10am-3pm

Job Overview

We are seeking a Band 2 Catering Assistant to join the Catering Department at Workington Hospital's Coffee Bean Café. This role involves working in a busy environment supporting food preparation, customer service, and maintaining food safety standards.

Main Duties
  • Assist with food preparation and service in various hospital outlets
  • Ensure cleanliness of crockery and work areas
  • Dispose of waste appropriately and handle industrial equipment safely
  • Report faults and customer complaints effectively
  • Follow all food safety, allergen laws, and HACCP procedures, including temperature logging
  • Work independently and as part of a team in a physically demanding environment
  • Be adaptable to cover shifts at short notice for annual leave or sickness
