Job summary

Aspens Services is recruiting a Catering Assistant (with Driving) to support school lunchtime service in Birmingham. You'll assist in basic food preparation, provide friendly customer service to students and staff, and help deliver meals safely between sites.

The role is 20 hours per week, term time only, with Monday to Friday shifts and no late nights or weekend work. A full UK driving licence is required; training for Health and Safety and food hygiene will be provided.

Qualifications

• Teamwork in a busy school catering environment.

• Familiarity with basic health and safety practices.
• Driving licence required for deliveries between sites.

The Role:

As a Catering Assistant (with Driving), you will be a vital part of the team, making the lunchtime rush run smoothly. Your day will involve supporting the kitchen in basic food preparation, providing excellent service, and safely delivering meals from one school to another.

You’ll be making a real difference through responsibilities that include:

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (don’t worry, full training is provided!).
• Front-Line Service:Providing friendly, polite customer service to all students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and meeting Health and Safety compliance

About You:

If you have these skills and qualities, we want to hear from you:

• You’re a team player and thrive as part of a busy team
• You have previous catering or fast-paced service experience
• You have a basic knowledge of health and safety practices
• The Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification is great, but not essential, as we can provide the training!
• You will hold a full UK driving licence
