Job Description: Catering Assistant Tuesday - Friday

Location: Peterborough

Contract: Part Time, Permanent

Salary: £12.21 per hour

Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 30 hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity at a prominent B&I location in Peterborough for a UK-based insurance company. The site caters for 400 people and features a breakfast, lunch, grab-and-go, and coffee bar. Facilities include a main restaurant and a separate cafe with some hospitality services. The working pattern is Monday to Friday. Benefits include free on-site parking with electric charging points.

We are seeking a Catering Assistant to join our friendly team at our prestigious contracts in Peterborough.

Responsibilities:

• Serve clients during breakfast, lunch, or dinner service.
• Assist in setting up the dining area for service.
• Prepare food adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen to the standards set by the Chef Manager and hygiene regulations.
• Clear and store away food, beverages, and equipment after functions.
• Restock and replenish supplies during service to ensure smooth operation.
• Operate cleaning and dishwashing equipment, ensuring all areas are properly cleaned and stored.
• Perform all necessary cleaning and hygiene duties.
• Interact professionally with customers and staff.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Follow all policies and procedures to promote a professional and flexible approach.
• Wear the correct uniform, neat and clean at all times.
• Conduct food temperature checks and other safety checks.
• Respond to management requests as needed.
• Report hazards and safety issues promptly.

Skills and Attributes:

• Experience in catering and customer service roles.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and initiative skills.
• Excellent personal presentation and hygiene.
• Food hygiene certification preferred.
• Flexible, reliable, honest, and customer-focused.
• Willing to learn new skills and handle some heavy lifting.

Knowledge/Competencies:
