University of Bristol is hiring a Catering Assistant to work primarily in one of our catered halls of residence, with involvement in events, cafes, bars and a food court. The role focuses on friendly customer service and hospitality in a university setting.
The position is part-time (20 hours), spread over 5 days a week, term-time only (34 weeks) with paid overtime and long summer/Easter/Christmas holidays. Training will be provided across service areas, ensuring a positive work-life balance.

The role will be working primarily in one of our 4 catered halls of residence though we also run events & conference spaces, 9 cafes, 3 bars and a food court and will suit someone who has experience in the industry or can demonstrate hospitable and hard-working qualities.

The contract is part time spread over 5 days a week (4/5 hour shifts normally), term time only (34 weeks) paid over 12 months meaning you get long summer holidays, Easter and Christmas/New Year all off. Shift patterns can vary and will include morning, evening and weekend shifts. You get paid overtime as well as extra paid days off for university closure days.
Our Catering Assistants are the friendly faces serving our students, other university staff and visitors and delivering great customer service. Our food is award-winning, our terms are fantastic and the team is good to be part of.
The successful candidate will be preparing and serving food and drink in one or many of our outlets whilst delivering great customer service. We will train you in all areas of service as required including food service & safety training, bar training, event service and generally looking after our students as part of a team.
