Job summary

Derbyshire County Council's Ecclesfold Resource Centre is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant to support the cook, prepare meals from a set menu, and help ensure high standards of hygiene for residents.

You will work Tue, Thu and Fri from 10am to 2pm, with flexibility across 7 days. A NVQ food hygiene certificate is required on appointment; training on IDDSI may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation, especially for large groups.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene.
• NVQ food hygiene certificate required upon appointment.
• Understanding of nutrition and hydration for older adults.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do:

• Assist the cook with preparing meals from a set menu, meeting individual dietary needs.
• Maintain top standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and safety.
• Manage stock control and stock rotation efficiently.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in food preparation (especially for large groups is a bonus!).
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and dietary requirements. (Successful completion of the NVQ food hygiene certificate will be required upon appointment)
• Understanding of nutrition and hydration for older adults.
• Flexibility to work across 7 days, including weekends & bank holidays.
• Familiarity with the IDDSI framework is a plus - but we’ll support your growth!

Working pattern & hours:

Tuesday, Thursday & Friday - there is flexibility available in the working pattern.

Hours: 10am - 2pm
