Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust’s Yeovil District Hospital is seeking friendly Catering Assistants to join the dedicated catering team. You will help deliver meals, support ward services and retail outlets, and maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Hygiene.
• Understanding of Allergen Regulations.
• Understanding of diets within a Healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Delivering meals, beverages and catering supplies to wards and departments.
• Preparing sandwiches, salads and other basic food items.
• Serving customers in hospital retail outlets and providing excellent customer service.
• Operating tills and handling daily sales records.
• Maintaining clean, safe and hygienic catering environments.
• Operating dishwashing equipment and cleaning catering utensils and equipment.
• Assisting with stock deliveries and storing supplies safely.
• Supporting catering functions and events when required.
