Job summary

Borrage House is seeking a Catering Assistant to support daily meal preparation and service for residents. You’ll contribute to nutritious, well-presented meals and work as part of a friendly, supportive kitchen team.

The role emphasizes health and safety compliance, teamwork, and a positive, caring attitude. Experience in catering and a Level 2 Food Safety certificate are preferred, with a willingness to obtain COSHH knowledge if needed.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
• Previous experience in a catering or kitchen environment.
• Experience working with older people (ideal, but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and service of nutritious, well-presented meals.
• Ensuring all health, safety, and hygiene standards are followed to the highest level.
• Helping minimise waste and using kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Supporting the catering team and communicating any issues promptly.
