Lyng Primary School in West Bromwich is seeking a friendly General Assistant to support lunchtime service during term time. The role includes food preparation, serving pupils, table setup, cleaning and general kitchen duties.

Part-time 12.5 hours per week (11:00–13:30, Monday to Friday during term time) with DBS checks and Level 2 Food Safety training. The post is paid Band A SCP 3, pro rata (£7,555 actual salary).

Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team.

We have a vacancy for a 12.5hr per week General Assistant. The hours will be between 11am - 1.30pm Monday to Friday during term time. The working times may vary depending on service needs.

Duties include assisting with the preparation of food, serving pupils, erecting and dismantling tables for lunch, cleaning the dining hall, washing up, kitchen cleaning and general kitchen duties.

Previous experience desirable, but training will be given. Candidates must be willing to undertake the Level 2 Food Safety and any other relevant training.
